The Ford Transit Custom was first released in Australia and New Zealand in early 2014. New Zealand variants were upgraded in May 2018 (MY2018.6) and Australian variants were upgraded in September 2019 (MY2019). This ANCAP safety rating is based on ANCAP tests conducted by Euro NCAP in 2012 and applies to all Ford Transit Custom variants on sale in NZ to April 2018, and on sale in Australia to August 2019.

New Zealand Transit (Tourneo) Custom vans built before March 2016 lack side chest and side head-protecting airbags and are unrated.

Corresponding safety specification information is listed within the ANCAP Technical Report.

Dual frontal, side chest and side head-protecting airbags (curtains) for front seats are standard for all variants covered by this rating. An advanced seat belt reminder is fitted to the driver seat. Autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and a lane support system are not available on these variants.

A full list of safety features and technologies can be viewed within the Technical Report (see download link).
