The tested model of LDV V80 went on sale in Australia and New Zealand in 2013. This ANCAP 3 star safety rating applies to the short-wheelbase low-roof variant with electronic stability control (ESC). ESC is standard on Australian vehicles built from September 2015 and from mid-2015 for New Zealand vehicles. A separate 2 star ANCAP safety rating applies to vehicles without ESC.

Dual frontal airbags are standard. Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) are also standard. Head-protecting side airbags are not available.
