2016

The Volkswagen Tiguan was introduced in Australia and New Zealand in September 2016. This ANCAP safety rating applies to all Tiguan variants including the Tiguan Allspace variants which were introduced into New Zealand in February 2018 and Australia in July 2018.

Dual frontal, side chest and side head airbags (curtains) and a driver knee airbag are standard. Autonomous emergency braking (City, Interurban) are standard on all variants, as well as lane departure warning (LDW). Tiguan models built from June 2017 are fitted with an updated AEB system which can detect vulnerable road users.
