The tested model of Ford Mustang was introduced in Australia and New Zealand in December 2015. This ANCAP safety rating is based on tests conducted by Euro NCAP and applies to V8 Fastback (coupe) variants. Other variants are unrated.

Dual frontal, side chest & side head airbags (curtains) and knee airbags for the driver and front passenger are standard. Advanced seat belt reminders are fitted to both front seats but not the rear. Automatic emergency call (e-Call) and SmartKey are standard. Autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and lane support systems (LSS) are not available.
