Dual frontal airbags are standard. Antilock brakes (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD) is also standard. Electronic stability control (ESC) is standard on diesel variants. Petrol variants were not available with ESC and the 2.4 litre MPI petrol variant was discontinued in 2017.

A full list of safety features and technologies can be viewed within the Technical Report (see download link).

A 2-point seat belt is fitted to the centre front seat. This provides inferior protection compared with a 3-point point (lap / sash) seat belt. This seating position also lacks the protection of an airbag.
