ANCAP Safety
Tested
2017

The tested model of Kia Rio (YB) was introduced in Australia and New Zealand in January 2017. This ANCAP safety rating applies to all Kia Rio variants and all variants of the Kia Stonic which is based on the Rio and shares the same structure and safety equipment / performance.

Dual frontal, side chest and side head (curtain) airbags are standard. Advanced seat belt reminders are fitted to the front and 2nd row seats. Autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and lane support systems (LSS) are not available on 2017 to 2019 models of the Rio, but are standard on all Kia Stonic variants. The MY20 Rio update saw AEB and LSS added as an option on Australian-specified models and as standard on NZ-specified models
