The tested model of Suzuki Swift was introduced in Australia in early 2005. The Australian Model has a 1.5 litre engine.
The left hand drive European Model was tested by EuroNCAP. Australasian specifications may vary and therefore models sold in Australasia might provide different levels of protection to those described on this page.
Dual front airbags and ABS brakes are standard on all variants. Head-protecting side curtains, as tested by EuroNCAP, are standard on the Swift S variant but are not available on other variants in Australia. The European model has an advanced seat belt reminder for the driver seat and earned a bonus point - the Australian model does not have this feature. The front seat belt buckles are mounted on the seats and the upper anchorages are adjustable. These features improve the fit of the seat belt. Pre-tensioners are fitted to the seat belts to reduce slack in the event of a crash. A three point seat belt is fitted to the centre rear seat. This provides better protection than a two point seat belt.
