The tested model of Toyota Kluger was introduced in Australia and New Zealand in 2014. This ANCAP safety rating applies to all variants built from November 2016, including updated models built from October 2017 and on sale from January 2018.
Dual frontal, side chest and side head-protecting airbags (curtains) and a driver knee airbag are standard. Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Lane Support Systems (LSS) are standard on all models built from October 2017. Advanced seat belt reminders are fitted to the front and second row seats. Third row seats do not have seat belt reminders but are protected by head-protecting side airbags (curtains).
