ANCAP Quick Fact: 45% of fatal crashes involve a single vehicle
21 August 2015
Approximately 45% of fatal crashes involve a single vehicle.
While the laws of physics mean that a larger mass will outweigh a smaller mass, and hence in car-to-car crashes the occupants of a larger, heavier vehicle would be less likely to be injured than those in a smaller, lighter vehicle, in single vehicle crashes - such as with solid fixed objects like a tree or pole - the extra mass of a larger, heavier vehicle can work against you.
Choose a car which holds the maximum 5 star ANCAP safety rating.
