The Fiat Ducato has been tested as part of ANCAP's Commercial Van Safety Comparison which assesses the fitment and performance of the active (collision avoidance) safety systems fitted to commercial vans.

This assessment is separate to ANCAP’s traditional star rating program.

The Commercial Van Safety grading for the diesel Fiat Ducato is largely based on an assessment of the closely-related Fiat e-Ducato, sold in Europe.

Diesel variants of the Series 2 Fiat Ducato (built from April 2024) receive a GOLD grading in ANCAP's Commercial Van Safety Comparison.

Autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and a lane support system are standard. Testing of the Fiat Ducato's active safety systems showed ADEQUATE performance in AEB Car-to-Car and AEB Pedestrian test scenarios, and GOOD performance in test of its AEB Cyclist, speed assist and lane support system functionality.

AEB Backover is not available. Blind spot monitoring is optional on some variants.
