The Fiat Scudo launched in New Zealand in August 2025 and Australia in February 2026, and has been tested as part of ANCAP's Commercial Van Safety Comparison. This Comparison assesses the fitment and performance of the active (collision avoidance) safety systems fitted to commercial vans.
This assessment is separate to ANCAP’s traditional star rating program.
The Commercial Van Safety grading for the Fiat Scudo (Series 3) is largely based on an assessment of the closely-related Opel Vivaro, sold in Europe.
The Fiat Scudo offers a range of collision avoidance features, with mixed performance noted. MARGINAL performance was seen for its ability to detect and autonomously brake for other vehicles and pedestrians – with performance limited in some night-time tests, and in test scenarios involving child pedestrians. ADEQUATE performance was seen for its ability to detect and autonomously brake for cyclists. Lane support, speed assistance, and occupant status monitoring performance was ADEQUATE.
