The Ford Endura was introduced in New Zealand in May 2018. The 2019 model year (MY19) update was released in Australia and New Zealand in December 2018. This ANCAP safety rating applies to all variants supplied to Australia and New Zealand built from September 2018.
Dual frontal, side chest-protecting, side head-protecting (curtain) airbags and driver knee airbags are standard.
All three grades of autonomous emergency braking (City, Interurban & Vulnerable Road User) are standard, as well as lane keep assist (LKA) and an intelligent speed assistance system (SAS) that can detect speed limit signs.
A full list of safety features and technologies can be viewed within the Technical Report (see download link).
NOTE: In April 2019 ANCAP conducted a full width frontal test of an Australian specification Ford Endura MY19 for audit test purposes. The audit test score was 7.62 out of 8.00 which would give an overall Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) score of 94%. This reflects the improvement to the specification of rear-seat restraints when compared to the version that was originally tested. The existing 5 star ANCAP safety rating is maintained.
