The Hyundai Elexio was introduced in Australia in February 2026. This ANCAP safety rating applies to all variants.
The ANCAP safety rating for the Hyundai Elexio is based on testing of the closely-related Kia EV5. ANCAP conducted additional active safety and pedestrian impact tests on the Hyundai Elexio, and was provided with technical information to show that test results of the Kia EV5 also apply to the Hyundai Elexio.
Dual frontal, side chest-protecting and side head-protecting airbags are standard. A centre airbag which provides added protection to front seat occupants in side impact crashes is also standard.
Autonomous emergency braking (Car-to-Car, Vulnerable Road User and Junction & Crossing, and Backover) as well as a lane support system with lane keep assist (LKA), lane departure warning (LDW) and emergency lane keeping (ELK), and an advanced speed assistance system (SAS) with a speed sign recognition system are standard on all variants.
A full list of safety features and technologies can be viewed within the Technical Report (see download link).
