The tested model of Kia Carnival was introduced in Australia and New Zealand in February 2015. This rating applies to variants with a V6 petrol engine built up to 22 December 2015. Vehicles built from 23 December 2015 hold a separate ANCAP safety rating.

Dual frontal, side chest and side head airbags (curtains) are standard. The curtain airbags protect all three rows of seats. Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) are also standard. Advanced seat belt reminders are fitted to both front seats. Vehicles built from June 2015 have seat belt reminders for outboard second-row seats. Several advanced crash avoidance features are available on higher-priced variants.
