The tested model of LDV V80 went on sale in Australia and New Zealand in 2013. This ANCAP safety rating applies to the short-wheelbase low-roof variant.

Dual frontal airbags are standard. Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) are also standard. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) was not available until mid-2015. The lack of ESC limited the V80’s safety rating to 2 stars. A separate 3 star ANCAP safety rating applies to models fitted with ESC.
