This ANCAP rating applies to all Toyota Hilux Rugged & Rugged X variants available from April 2018 and is based on testing of the Toyota Hilux dual cab 4x4 tested in 2015.

Dual frontal, side chest and side head airbags (curtains) and a driver knee airbag are standard. Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) are also standard.

Advanced seat belt reminders are fitted to all fixed seats. Upper anchorages for child restraints are fitted to outboard rear seats of dual cab variants. These have a webbing loop top-tether routing device. Check the owner’s manual for instructions.

Autonomous emergency braking (City, Interurban and Vulnerable Road User) as well as lane keep assist (LKA) with lane departure warning (LDW) and an advanced speed assistance system (SAS) are fitted to models built from July 2019.
