The tested model of Toyota Prius was introduced in Australia and New Zealand in March 2016. This ANCAP safety rating applies to all variants built from November 2015, including the Prius Prime Plug-In Hybrid available in New Zealand from April 2018.
Dual frontal, side chest and side head airbags (curtains) and a driver knee airbag are standard. Autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane support systems (LSS) and adaptive cruise control (ACC) are standard on all variants.
