TESTED 2022

The Volkswagen Transporter has been tested as part of ANCAP’s Commercial Van Safety Comparison which assesses the fitment and performance of the active (collision avoidance) safety systems fitted to commercial vans.

The Volkswagen Transporter (T6.1) provides a fair selection of active safety systems yet lags those systems available across Volkswagen’s passenger car range. Notably, the Transporter lacks pedestrian and cyclist-detecting autonomous emergency braking. This gap in safety technology places it behind some of its competitors in the commercial van segment.

Lane departure warning and blind spot monitoring may be optional on some models/variants sold in New Zealand.
