Volkswagen Transporter

The Volkswagen Transporter has been tested as part of ANCAP's Commercial Van Safety Comparison, which assesses the fitment and performance of the active (collision avoidance) safety systems fitted to commercial vans.

This assessment is separate to ANCAP’s traditional star rating program.

The Commercial Van Safety grading for the Volkswagen Transporter is largely based on an assessment of the closely related Ford Transit Custom.

ANCAP's assessment of the Volkswagen Transporter confirmed GOOD performance across all areas.

With a comprehensive suite of well-performing advanced safety features, the Volkswagen Transporter achieved a high score of 93% and a PLATINUM grading - improving on the result of the earlier-generation Transporter, which achieved a SILVER grading when assessed in 2022.
